Riverboat Mayfair-Lookout Games
In this week is Riverboat another new game by designer Michael Kiesling. Other games he’s designed include Azul,Vikings, Heaven & Ale, Coal Baron, Mexica, Linkoand many others.
Michael Kiesling goes point salad in Riverboat, a 90 minute game for 2 to 4 players that takes place along the Mississippi River during the early 19th Century. Players manage a farm where they must grow a variety of crops to ship on the Riverboats. The game consists of 4 rounds with 5 phases to each round. Key to the game is the drafting of the phase cards which not only determine turn order but awards a benefit to the card drafter as well as provide actions to all players. Game play consists of drafting, worker placement, tile placement, recruiting additional workers and surveyors in addition to moving your harbor master along your dock.

Uwe Rosenberg puts the players in the beautiful landscape of Lofoten. In these northern climes, it is important to lead your own fishing company to success. To do this, the fleet must be enlarged, the forest cleared, new buildings built and the local elders satisfied. But the competition does not sleep! Those who need quick money can offer their shares for sale, but there is a risk that he must participate in the buyer’s catch.
Two new features make for a varied game feeling. So the money is sown as always rare and one of the quicker and easier ways to get it is to throw shares of its own company on the market.
Monsters & Minions is the first expansion to the base gameRoll Player,a dice rolling, card drafting, set collection fantasy game. This expansion adds a fifth player in which players compete not only to construct the greatest fantasy characters, but also to gather information about the looming threat and prepare for a final showdown against the beast. The more prepared the adventurers are for the battle, the better they’ll fare, but that information doesn’t come for free. Listen for rumors to gather details for the fight ahead.
