Vivid Memories is a tile drafting and network building family game with colorful components and interesting game play. The theme and game play represent childhood memories and the collecting of fragments to weave a tapestry of colorful threads in your mind.
Players will collect and arrange memory fragment tokens on their player board, scoring points for connecting and completing core memory slots along the edges, matching moment tile conditions and for matching their secret aspiration (goal) tile. The player with the most points after 3 rounds wins! – – 2 to 4 players – – 30 to 45 minutes game time
Vivid Memories is played over three rounds. At the beginning of each round a number of two-sided moment tiles will be revealed with the action side face up and populated with a number of random fragment tokens creating a memory line. The reverse side of the moment tile indicates its scoring requirements. During a round players will take turns taking fragment tokens from the memory line. These fragments must then be placed in one of the hex squares on a players’ board. When the last fragment token is taken from a moment tile the player receives that moment tile. Play continues until the last fragments and moment tile has been taken from the memory line. Players will then place any moment tiles they have received during the round into slots provided on their player board with the action side up. Next, players perform up to four actions as indicated on their board and on their moment tiles to add, swap, move fragment tiles, etc. on their board to create an arrangement that will score them the most points. Moment tiles are flipped over to the scoring side once the actions have been taken.
The interim scoring phase is next. Players will score their moment tiles as indicated on the tile. Next, score points for creating a connecting line of the same color fragment tokens to the ones printed on the edge of the player board. For each scoring line one fragment token will be moved from each end of the line into empty core memory slots. Core memories are clusters of 1, 2, or 3 slots on the edge of the player board. If all the slots in a cluster are filled with fragment tokens, the core memory is complete and scores. This round is now over. Begin and play the next round in the same manner. At the end of the third round, players will also score their secret aspiration (goal) tile that they received at the start of the game. The player with the most points is the winner.
