My Shelfie is a new game that just arrived in and one that we got a chance to play at a recent game trade show we attended. This is a family game with simple rules, strategic choices, and a nice 3D touch. Players are competing to completely fill their empty bookshelf in a manner that scores the most points. There are personal goals and common goals to gain points from. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. – – 2 to 4 players – – 25 minutes game time
Each player will have a 3-D empty bookshelf that they will need to fill in with item tiles that depict a variety of images that include books, plants, board games, portraits, cats, etc. On their turn, players will select from one to three tiles from the shared living room game board according to the selection requirements. Then they must drop all chosen tiles into the top of one and only one of their bookshelf columns. They can choose which order to drop in the tiles but once they have been dropped in there is no rearranging them. The goal is to get tiles in positions that match your private personal goal and that match the common goals. Throughout the game the central living room board will get replenished with tiles. Game proceeds in this manner until a player has completely filled all of their slots. You’ll finish the round and then tally your points. The player with the most points wins.
