Akropolis is a new easy-to-learn strategic game about building a city, your city, by placing and stacking tiles to create the best scoring acropolis. – – 2 to 4 players – – 20 to 30 minutes game play
Welcome to Akropolis where players build their own city with tiles in a quest to score the most points. The game is played over 12 rounds with each player starting with a tile made up of four hexes. The central play area comprises of a row of six available city tiles and stacks of the remaining city tiles. On their turn, a player will take one of the available six city tiles and place it in their city. The city tiles are made up of three hexes each with a random combination of quarries, plazas, and districts. Plazas are in one of five colors that correspond to the district buildings and have from one to three stars that are multipliers for points at game end. The districts have 5 different types of buildings/colors: houses, markets, barracks, temples and gardens, each with a different method to score. In order for a district building to score points it must have a plaza of its matching color. Quarries have a white background and do not score, but yield stones whenever a player builds over them. Stones are necessary to use in drafting the right tiles. If a player wants a tile further down the line they will have to pay a stone for each tile they pass over.
Building upwards will be essential for increasing your scoring potential. Not only does a player gain stones but in addition, buildings on the 2nd layer count as 2 of that type of building. Buildings on the 3rd layer counts as 3 of that type of building. At the end of the twelfth round points are tallied and the player with the most points is the winner.
