Also included is a new storybook with new challenges, enemies, and fables. Additionally, there are new tokens, sleep cards, and its own discovery deck. - Catan Traders & Barbarians Expansion – Provides 5 challenging scenarios. – – 3 to 4 players – – 90 minutes game play.
- The Fishermen of Catan – fish in the great lake or try casing in rich coastal shoals. Use fish tokens to gain certain advantages.
- Rivers of Catan – build along the river to receive gold which can be spent to gain resources.
- Caravans – caravans of camels starting at an oasis bring an extra victory point to settlements and cities adjacent to it and to any roads parallel to it.
- Barbarian Attack – coastal tiles can be disabled through the use of barbarians. Barbarians can be repelled by the use of knights, which are deployed at a special castle hex.
- Traders & Barbarians – each player has a wagon that serves to shuttle commodities between three different trade hexes. These trade hexes, all situated on a coast, have a central point and four possible road paths leading to them.
